Ma³opolskie Centrum Doskonalenia Nauczycieli  - MCDN
Ma³opolskie Centrum Doskonalenia Nauczycieli - MCDN is a public, accredited, in-service teacher training institution carrying out its statutory goals at regional level. It has been operating since 1 March 2000, and was created by transforming the three provincial in-service teacher training centres in one regional institution with its Main Office  in  Kraków, ul. Lubelska 23.
MCDN has four units:

– MCDN O¶rodek Doskonalenia Nauczycieli in Kraków
– MCDN O¶rodek Doskonalenia Nauczycieli in Nowy S±cz
– MCDN O¶rodek Doskonalenia Nauczycieli in O¶wiêcim
– MCDN O¶rodek Doskonalenia Nauczycieli in Tarnów

MCDN  is an institution over which Self Government of Ma³opolska  Region has jurisdiction and Chief Education Officer of Ma³opolska holds the pedagogical supervision.

The mission of the Centre is to support the professional development of teachers and education personnel as well as the organizational advancement of educational institutions in achieving quality.

We pursue our mission by organizing various forms of trainings in consultancy and professional development based on:
- recognition of the needs and requirements of education in Ma³opolska,
- current educational priorities of the state and the region,
- current directions and trends in pedagogical research and theories.

 Our training offer is aimed at:
- education management,
- pedagogic supervisors,
- employees of Local Government Units resonsible for education,
- methodological advisors,
- teachers working in all types of schools and education levels.

We guarantee:
- courses responding to current challenges in education,
- highly-qualified staff,
- professional approach,
- high quality services,
- state-of-the-art aids and technologies.

 Our offer includes:
- qualifying courses,
- in-service training courses and workshops,
- conferences,  seminars,  education forum,
- trainings for pedagogical Staff,

- national, regional and international programmes/projects.

 We cooperate with the following institutions and organizations:
- Educational Inspectorate in Krakow,
- Regional Examination Board in Krakow,
- Polish and foreign institutions of teacher training and development,
- Polish and foreign universities,
- non-governmental organizations,
- local governments,
- culture centers,
- publishing houses.

 

Ma³opolskie Centrum Doskonalenia Nauczycieli has issued for the past 20 years a  magazine “Hejna³ O¶wiatowy” for teachers and education representatives. The magazine is issued in cooperation with the Education Office of Ma³opolska and the Regional Examination Board in Krakow.

"Hejna³ O¶wiatowy" is addressed both to individual customers - teachers, education professionals, students as well as collective customers - schools, libraries, educational institutions and local government units. It is aimed at teachers and education workers from Ma³opolska and across the country.

 “Hejna³ O¶wiatowy” is a popular and science magazine-reviewed (two sections: "Teaching and education - theory and research", "Book reviews"), supporting teachers in improving their workshop, transmitting the latest knowledge in the field of education and psychology, informing about important events in education. It is devoted to modern education, educational innovation and effective teaching and learning techniques.
